Job Description:

The Division of Information Technology is currently recruiting for Help Desk Specialist to provide mid-level college-wide, technical support and assistance to faculty, staff, and students through the operation of a central Information Technology Help Desk Center.

Assists with the operation of a central Help Desk Center by providing first-level contact for user support requests initiated by telephone, walk-ins, e-mail, online enterprise messaging and Help Desk management systems; to include troubleshooting, information updates and routing requests to other staff as appropriate.

Assists with the college-wide design, installation, support and upgrades of smart technology equipment and software utilized in academic labs, video conferencing locations, and smart classrooms; to include core audio and video switching devices, touch panel and video displays, projectors, video codecs and etc.

Provides technical support and assistance to faculty, staff and students in the use of information technology equipment, software and online services (e.g. login and application access, network connectivity, printing, mobile and tablet technologies, Microsoft Windows, Office 365, Skype for Business, e-mail, etc.).

Provides support in the scheduling, setup, and testing of all college approved meetings and events of internal and external activities utilizing our cloud based and on premise technology infrastructures.

Performs other related duties as assigned; to include new technology research.

Advertised Salary:

Pay Grade 4.

Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and three (3) years experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, sales or marketing, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of audio/video equipment, personal computer hardware and software, printers, and related information technology devices. Ability to troubleshoot problems and provide solutions; establish and maintain working relationships with users and Information Technology staff; follow oral and written instructions; and communicate effectively.
