Job Description:

The College invites applications for Head Librarian of Library and Learning Resources! The Head Librarian and Director of Tutorial Services and provide leadership for the management of the services and supervision of personnel on a multi-campus integrated library system and Student Tutoring & Technology Center (SSTC). Provides leadership in the budgeting and financial management, strategic planning, technological advancement, and implementation of policies and procedures for the Library and SSTC. In addition, lead in training student on the uses of multimedia technologies, including the visual wall. To facilitate effective working relations between and among Library and SSTC faculty and administration to ensure quality services and programs.

Manages, plans, and organizes Library services, Student Success and Technology Center services.

Provides aggressive vision and leadership, and serves as an advocate for the College's vision, goals, mission and growth through efficient and effective library, tutoring and technology services to the patrons and community.

Provides leadership in the researching, planning and implementation of new services offered by the Library and Student Success and Technology Center in the development of policies and procedures for assigned areas.

Promotes and supports the appropriate integration of technology in library services maintaining a firm grasp of current and emerging library technology.

Provides leadership in the training of students on the uses of multimedia technologies.

Provides leadership to promote faculty awareness of the libraries and the services at each HGTC campus as they relate to each respective instructional program and to work collaboratively with faculty to ensure that the services and materials meet the needs of the students.

Develops borrowing articulation agreements with other colleges and universities to provide access to as many extended resources and services, and many carriers of knowledge.

Manages the operation of the Richardson Gallery to include scheduling, coordination of art exhibits, and press releases.

Provides leadership in the development of all Library and Student Success Center promotional and instructional materials for public service.

Advertised Salary:

Commensurate with education and experience. 

Minimum Requirements:

Master of Library Science from an ALA accredited institution. Five (5) years of progressively responsible related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant work experience in a college setting.
