Job Description:

The Electronics Engineering Division at Horry-Georgetown Technical College is seeking applicants for an Associate Professor, EET. The Associate Professor is responsible for, but are not limited to, preparation and instruction of classroom using multiple teaching methods to include technology, and to assist in evaluating student achievement of learning outcomes.  Assist in the organization and maintenance of lab and classroom equipment.  Must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual adoption of state-of-the-art information technology.

The successful candidate will have a background in the application of electrical and electronics engineering principles including analog and digital circuits, semiconductors, microcontrollers, sensors, electrical machines, programmable logic controllers, and robotics.   Essential functions of the position are to teach courses online and/or in a traditional classroom setting and to also participate in service-related activities such as departmental and/or college committees and student advising.  In addition, the successful candidates will foster relationships with industry stakeholders.

The instructor is accountable to the department chair for the fulfillment of his or her function, responsibilities, authority and relationships, and for their proper interpretation. The instructor may assign to members of the organization appropriate portions of his or her responsibility together with corresponding authority for their fulfillment, but may not delegate or relinquish his or her responsibility.

Advertised Salary:

Commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in discipline or Bachelor’s degree and professional licensure with 5+ years industry experience and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

Higher education teaching experience.
