Job Description:

The School of Public Services, Teacher Education, and Computer Technology at Horry Georgetown Technical College is seeking candidates for the position of Full-time Instructor in their ABA Approved Paralegal Program beginning August 2023. We are seeking motivated and engaged candidates who share a willingness to collaborate with other faculty members, staff, students, and the community at large.

In this role, you will be responsible for teaching law-related courses in a variety of areas. Teaching duties will include both on-campus and synchronous course instruction. The individual will report to the Department Chair and will be responsible for developing relevant and progressive curriculum, designing and implementing effective learning strategies and environments, utilizing innovative teaching techniques and technology, delivering instruction of high quality, assessing student learning, advising students, and participating in college service activities at the department, school, and college levels. (Please note that the position requires in-person teaching and cannot be done remotely). 

Advertised Salary:

Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave.

Minimum Requirements:

Juris Doctor degree from an ABA Approved Law School; Licensed to practice law and in good standing with the Bar (SC Bar preferred); and Experience supervising paralegals.

Preferred Qualifications:

Practical work experience in the legal field; ability to collaborate with other faculty, staff, students, and the local community; adept at using and teaching technology routinely used in the legal field; and excellent communication skills. Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level is preferred.
