Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is a two -year community/technical college that offers more than 75 associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs for students who are either seeking quick entry into the workforce or desiring to transfer to a senior institution to pursue a bachelor’s degree. HGTC offers three convenient campus locations in South Carolina, including Myrtle Beach, Conway and Georgetown.

Horry-Georgetown Technical College seeks a full-time Mathematics instructor.  The successful candidate will be required to travel and teach math courses at any HGTC campus location.  This individual will report to the Mathematics Department Head of the School of Arts and Sciences Division, and will be responsible for the following duties and more:

• Preparing lesson plans for classroom instruction in all modalities
• Developing program syllabi, goals, and objectives
• Evaluating student performance
• Assessing Math student learning objectives
• Providing academic advisement to students
• Participation in college events and college sanction professional development
• Maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of mathematics
• Supporting college-wide enrollment initiatives
• Ensuring safety and security requirements are met in training areas

Duties include a flexible schedule of lecture and laboratory instructions, student advisement and registration.  Must be willing to work split teaching shifts that might require teaching days on multiple campuses or teaching evening classes.  Must fully embrace the responsibility for maintaining an acceptable number of students within related programs.

Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave. 

Masters Degree in Math or a Masters Degree with 18 graduate hours in Math.

Prior teaching experience preferred.
