The Student Affairs Division at Horry-Georgetown Technical College is seeking applications for a Career Counselor. The Counselor will be responsible for the following duties
- Providing career-counseling services to students, including but not limited to, administering and interpreting career inventories, providing career planning, and counseling for changes of major.
- Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and academic department leaders to identify, define, and meet student career planning needs, goals, and objectives.
- Provide advisement to new students and to continuing who are changing academic majors and/or who are unsure of their major by developing of academic plans to include the interpretation of placement test results, clarification of educational/career/personal goals, referral to necessary services, and course selection and sequencing.
- Develop and implement appropriate career planning materials, programs, and resources to support the needs of the student body.
- Provide personal counseling and make referrals to on-campus or off-campus resources, when necessary.

| Minimum Requirements: |
Master's degree; or bachelor's degree and two (2) years experience in student services programs.
