Job Description:

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is a two -year community/technical college that offers more than 75 associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs for students who are either seeking quick entry into the workforce or desiring to transfer to a senior institution to pursue a bachelor’s degree. HGTC offers three convenient campus locations in South Carolina, including Myrtle Beach, Conway and Georgetown.

The Dual Enrollment Program in the Student Affairs division at Horry-Georgetown Technical College is seeking applications for a Dual Enrollment Advisor. The Advisor will report to the Director of Dual Enrollment and will provide college advisement and registration assistance to all dual enrollment students. The Advisor will work closely with local high school administration to ensure students are placed into the appropriate and approved courses.  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide advisement to dual enrollment students to include the interpretation of placement results, clarification of educational/career/personal goals, referral to necessary services, and course selection and sequencing.
  • Coordinate dual enrollment admissions and registration with local high school students for technical and academic pathways to college including Horry and Georgetown County, private, charter and homeschool students.
  • Deliver formal presentations on dual enrollment programs both on-campus and off-campus to prospective students, parents, and counselors.
  • Assist the Director of Dual Enrollment with the planning and implementation of both online and in-person new student orientation sessions each year.
  • Build and maintains positive relationships with faculty and other College personnel to assist students in their complete academic advising process and makes referrals for other College Services, when necessary.
Advertised Salary:

$38,985 (Minimum)- $55,559 (Midpoint)

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent Bachelor’s degree with experience in higher education. Oral and written communication, interpersonal, customer service, and technology skills.
