Job Description:

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is a two -year community/technical college that offers more than 75 associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs for students who are either seeking quick entry into the workforce or desiring to transfer to a senior institution to pursue a bachelor’s degree. HGTC offers three convenient campus locations in South Carolina, including Myrtle Beach, Conway and Georgetown.

Horry-Georgetown Technical College is seeking applications for a Title IX Coordinator/Equal Opportunity Officer. The Title IX Coordinator/Equal Opportunity Officer position works with the Title IX team leading oversight of HGTC's compliance with legal, regulatory, and policy requirements relating to sex and gender discrimination (including Title IX, VAWA, Clery Act, state and local laws) and civil rights discrimination (including Title VI, Title VII, ADA, ADEA, state and local laws) for students, faculty, staff, third-party vendors, and visitors.

Duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Collaborates and consults with the VP of Student Affairs/Tile IX Coordinator to conduct prompt, equitable and impartial administrative investigations into complaints including identifying and interviewing parties, gathering and assessing information relevant to the investigation, applying relevant policies, and develop analysis in individual cases.
  • Maintains high level of confidentiality and develops a comprehensive written report of the investigation of complaints.
  • Provides compliance training, educational programming, and outreach to campus community through the development of effective engagement strategies with faculty, staff, and students
  • Provides support to the Office of Student Affairs by investigating and resolving discrimination and/or harassment complaints involving all protected classes and Title IX. 
Advertised Salary:

$57,334 (Minimum)- $81,707 (Midpoint)

Minimum Requirements:

A master's degree and experience in student services programs. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Higher Education, criminal justice, psychology, human resources, or related field, with a minimum three to five years progressively responsible, full-time experience in student affairs and/or higher education. Prior experience working with Title IX programs in an academic setting. Training in Title IX investigation procedures preferred. Strong writing and editing skills. Ability to manage and oversee complex projects, use independent judgement, and manage and impart confidential information. Experience in designing and conducting training and educational programming on relevant topics. Excellent interpersonal skills in the areas of collaboration, team participation, creative problem solving, conflict resolution, decision making, written and oral communication, and effectively interacting with diverse constituencies.
