Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is a two -year community/technical college that offers more than 75 associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs for students who are either seeking quick entry into the workforce or desiring to transfer to a senior institution to pursue a bachelor’s degree. HGTC offers three convenient campus locations in South Carolina, including Myrtle Beach, Conway and Georgetown.

The Upward Bound Program at Horry-Georgetown Technical College is seeking applications for a Upward Bound Program Adviser. The Adviser will report to the Director of Upward Bound and assist with recruiting participants into the program, and provide college advising to participants who are first generation, low socioeconomic high school students.  Program Advisers will be reimbursed for mileage on personal automobiles and would be expected to travel. The Adviser will work collaboratively with Upward Bound Program Coordinator to maintain accurate program records for up to 6 years post graduation.

$32,686 (Minimum)- $46,578 (Midpoint)

Bachelor's Degree. 

Associate Degree plus relevant experience. Minimum of 2 years experience in student services program, school counseling or a closely related discipline and work related experience with low income, first generation students. Energetic individual with past customer service experience and a strong interest in education and mentor work. In addition, the ideal candidate will understand the challenges and barriers facing academically at-risk students, low-income, and first-generation college students. TRIO experience is desired but not required.
