Job Description:

Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) is a two -year community/technical college that offers more than 75 associate degree, diploma, and certificate programs for students who are either seeking quick entry into the workforce or desiring to transfer to a senior institution to pursue a bachelor’s degree. HGTC offers three convenient campus locations in South Carolina, including Myrtle Beach, Conway and Georgetown.

Horry-Georgetown Technical College seeks a full-time Machine Tool instructor. The successful candidate will be required to teach Machine Tool courses at any Horry-Georgetown Technical College campus location. The successful candidate will be accountable to the department chair for the fulfillment of his or her function, responsibilities, authority and relationships, and for their proper interpretation.

This individual will be responsible for the following duties (this list is not intended to be exhaustive). 

  • Preparation and instruction of classroom using multiple teaching methods to include technology
  • Assist in evaluating student achievement of learning outcomes.
  • Assist in the maintenance of lab and classroom equipment.
  • Must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology.
Advertised Salary:

Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate degree in Machine Tool Technology. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree preferred in discipline or related industrial/manufacturing discipline. Must have minimum of five years’ work experience in industry including computer numerical control functions and CNC programming. Experience in working with machining blueprints and inspection tools. Current computer skills; CAD experience desirable. 5 years’ supervisory experience in industry. Teaching experience at post-secondary level is desirable. Communicate effectively through both oral and written means.
